It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

First, thank you for a most successful Book Fair.  It was an unusual week, but we made it through and the sales were great.  I'll be looking to schedule an author sometime in the Spring for the students at RCE.  The RCE Singers gave a concert at our Thursday night late night.  The students did an awesome job sharing their voices.

It was kind of difficult to return to school after a week of Thanksgiving holidays - but it didn't take long for the students to get back into the routine.  The fourth graders are working hard on The Nutcracker - the performance is NEXT WEEK!

Fourth grade went to Austin on Friday for the annual Austin field trip.  The weather looks great for them to explore the museums and the capitol in Austin.  Can't wait to hear how the trip went.

Student Council is busy working on their Holiday Project.  The first step went really well.  I can't wait to see the end product!  Student Council is amazing ...I am so impressed with their talents and passions.  Each year I wonder how Student Council can be better....and each year the students show me how they can make can make a difference.

During the month of November and continuing through December, Mrs. Harn has been sharing about kindness.  Many students have seen the movie Wonder based on the book by the same title.  Here is a quote from the author,  R.J. Palacio - " If every person in this room made it a rule that whenever you are, whenever you can, you will try to act a little kinder than is necessary - the world really would be a better place.  and if you do this, if you act just a little kinder than is necessary, someone else, somewhere, someday, may recognize in you, in every single one of you, the face of God."  As we think about kindness and the spirit of this holiday season, I found a calendar of kindness activities.  Perhaps this is something we should all try to do as we are still trying to recover from the Harvey mess.    Perhaps thinking of others and being kind will bring happiness to all.

Let's all try a little kindness in the month of December!

Next week - look for photos of the decorated doors - some of them are amazing and feature student work!
Be Kind!  Be Happy!  Just Be!
