Week 2 is under our belts!

This week was a nice week at The Creek.  The students seem to be settling in and routines are being set up. The students are actively involved in learning and working so hard.  Afterschool programs began this week - Chess, Art After School, and Spanish were full of students after the last bell rang.

This week appeared to be a little more normal for all.  Busses ran smoother, students got to school on time and everyone seemed to be in good spirits.  So nice to hear happy voices and see smiles in the hallway.

Not a lot to report this week.  Here is Jack Cashin's video of the week.

Here are a few photos from the week:
Students in the primary grades add tiles as they return their library books.

We can't wait to see what the tiles make.

Hopefully, the students will return books each week so we can figure out what the painting is!

September Crew is moving and shaking.

An outstanding group of students for KRCE this month.
The tech crew keeps the show running.

First Friday....and it's mid-September

Here it is September 15th.  It is our first full week of school.  Our first Friday.  So much has happened this school year....but one thing is constant.  The Rummel Creek community.  The Rummel Creek community is hardworking, organized, and like a family.  As we have experienced so much in the last few weeks, it is wonderful to see the RCE community so strong.

Students have come back to school and started working hard.  It's almost as if we didn't skip a beat.  They have filed into the school, worked hard all day and followed all of the school rules.  The students have mirrored their parents as they work together to begin the school year again.  The RCE student community is also strong!

Most of this week has been getting back into a school routine.  Teachers have had to look at curriculum and make decisions, and students have buckled down to learn what is placed before them.  Again it has been amazing to see how strong the RCE Community is.

Friday we had a lawyer come share with the students in First Grade in honor of Constitution Day  Ms. Lowery has visited several times to share books with the students at RCE.  Each time she leaves, she comments on how well read and well spoken the students at RCE are.  A proud moment when an outsider notices how outstanding our RCE Roadrunners are!

PTA had a meeting this morning.  Lots of new faces!  Hope to see the PTA group continue to grow.  Along with the PTA meeting, the PTA provided a scrumptious lunch of comfort foods - it could not have been better!  Fried chicken, mac and cheese and cole slaw!  Oh yes!  Warm rolls and cake!  Yeah!  Thank you, PTA for a delightful respite today!  Again - the RCE Community is strong!

This year we have a new position on the KRCE crew - videographer.  Jack Cashin is our very first roaming reporter/videographer.  He has produced two videos showing the students at RCE.  They are linked below.

A few notes from the library - this year we are "skipping" the Primary Reading Club Program and delaying Book Fair for a better time.  We'll keep you posted on the things happening in the library during the fall semester!

From the Cafeteria - here is a link to the RCE Lunch Menu.  Ms. Katrina is updating it each week.

Feel so proud to finish this week strong.  Next week will be even better.  Enjoy a restful weekend and we'll see you back next week.  RCE Strong!
