Two more weeks of fun

Last week Friday totally flew by without a posting from RCE...so we need to think back to all of the things that have happened in the past few weeks.

Students enjoyed shopping for books from Holland Elementary in Holland Pennsylvania.  It's still amazing how many books were sent and how many were shared with students at RCE.  We had a few boxes left over and have sent them through an RCE Girl Scout troop to another school affected by Harvey ....so Holland Elementary continues to give to the Houston community affected by Harvey again.  Thank you, Holland Elementary!

Last week was "Walk Texas".  Ms. Fancher encouraged students to get out and walk the track.  Thank goodness we had some wonderful weather for students to walk the track at 10:00!

Perhaps we should challenge the students to walk the track every day!

Love our Watch Dogs!  The kids adore the time on the playground and in the classroom.  Kindergarten loves to play Tenzi with the Dads ....we can hear the laughter all the way to the library!  What an influence these Dads have on our children.

The Library has been a busy place - lots of activity - from computers to creation!  So much fun to watch the students explore.

Ms. Lowery returned to read, Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed, at Rummel Creek to Second Grade students.....great book to share!

We have a roving reporter for KRCE and now we have a student-created newspaper in the works.  So excited to see what these girls have up their sleeve - perhaps they will take over the weekly blog!
Layne Lease and Sydney Richman.
Love to encourage young creative minds -  Isabella Smith and Audrey Cook have taken Astro Fever to the next level - enjoy their story!  (It's a video)

Now to the event that everyone is ready for - Fall Festival.  3rd Graders in Ms. Gandolfo's class kindly made videos to highlight the raffle items. Enjoy their video!
Our KRCE Roving Reporter asked a few students what they love about Fall Festival Enjoy her video !

And finally, Book Character Parade was today!  Love watching the children share their favorite book characters and costumes throughout the building!  Such an exciting way to end the week!  Enjoy this animoto of the morning!

Looking forward to the Barbara Bush Foundation Build My Library - Harvey Relief - It's going to be an exciting week - look at all of the boxes to unpack on Monday!

Stay warm!  Cheer on the Astros!  Thank goodness its a Fall Friday afternoon!
