As we are all looking forward to the Super Bowl game here in Houston on Sunday, we are reflecting on a super week at Rummel Creek.
Tuesday, PTA provided a wonderful cultural arts program! Students danced and sang through the decades. I think every grade level enjoyed this interactive program.
Wednesday was a super day - it started out with the 100's day. Kindergarten students decorated T-Shirts and paraded through the hallways. (Pictures to come soon - having some technical difficulty getting them downloaded.)
After the 100's day parade, students were treated to sessions with the author Jerry Pallotta. He was so much fun and brought our goal of reading more non-fiction to the forefront. After seeing his presentation, I think all of the students will want to read non-fiction books. Several classrooms have already started creating their own versions of the "Who Would Win" series. Can't wait to see what they write! (More photos to come - technical difficulties!)
On Wednesday, the fifth graders took their tour of MMS. The students learned a lot about MMS. Some are ready, some are not! I think a few of them would just be glad to stay at the creek!
On Wednesday, the second graders and PreK students took a field trip fo the SBISD Ag Farm. Students were able to pet the animals - the bunnies were the favorite. If they dared, there was a cow, a pig, goat or a lamb. Even chickens were running around. The students enjoyed every minute at the ag farm.
Wednesday was CRAZY.....but Thursday and Friday were a little more normal.
Today we gave the Spirit Stick to Mrs. Evetts' Third Grade classroom. They have don a great job this year.
It's a special weekend this week! Enjoy time with family and friends as you watch the Super Bowl game. Hope to see you back at school on time Monday morning!
