Short Week - Maybe!!!

We had Monday off, but the week was still filled with lots of learning and lots of visitors.

Monday was the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.  So glad the weather was good so the students could get out to play.  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were so wet we had to have inside recess.  Thank goodness the weather turned out beautiful on Friday and the students were able to get out to play.

We had Dr. Muri in our building on Tuesday morning.  He spent time in classrooms watching activities in the classroom and visited with students and teachers.  In the afternoon, we had people looking at our new building and asking questions about how we liked it. (We love it!).  Wednesday we had visitors sharing nutrition information with students.  They came back on Friday to finish.  On Thursday our morning started out busy with PreK Preview for parents who will have PreK students here next year.  It was followed by visiting administrators from other SBISD schools visiting in classrooms and seeing all of the wonderful things that are going on at RCE.  Students were "A-OK" with all of the visitors to our campus.

We had wonderful WATCH DOGS all week long.  Thank you to the Dads that come to volunteer at our school.  We love having you each day.

Finally, the Books for the Primary Reading Club, Ice Cream for Books arrived and students received the book placed in the RCE Library in honor of all of the reading they have completed.  Such fun to give out new books to students.

Technology is moving and shaking at RCE.  We're experimenting with our green screen and completed the lessons with our new Chromebooks for grades 4 & 5.

Fourth Grade Mrs. Rixie and Mrs. Sammons' classes won the Spirit Stick this week.  I think they were surprised.

Book Buddies came to the library on Friday.  Such a treat to watch children share stories!

Tomorrow is the Book Festival at Spring Oaks, hope to see some Roadrunners there!

Have a great weekend....see you back at school on Monday!
