Another Week at the Creek

We had a Monday holiday this week....so it was a short week...but not short on activities and learning at Rummel Creek!
Bugz is a RCE Hit!

Second Grade students proudly shared their play Bugz with the students on Tuesday and the parents on Thursday.  Both days were wonderful performances.  The costumes continue to look great and the kids all knew their parts.  You can tell the students loved the music and dances.
The Bugz are here!

This year we are so excited to have 6 Odyssey of the Mind Teams.  Saturday they compete for District.  It will be a very exciting day for these students as they share their creations.  Friday after school, some of the teams will be sharing their productions as a practice for Saturday.
Cheer for the RCE teams!

Have fun....strut your stuff and make RCE proud?

Friday was Go Texan day at RCE!  Square Dancing, Boots, Hats, Bandannas and more!  Such a wonderful tradition at RCE!  For more photos and videos - check out the Specials Instagram Account - RCE.specials.

No Spirit Stick was awarded this week....need to work a little harder!
Have a fun weekend...

Love Love Love!

There is so much love going around at Rummel Creek.

The PTA RCE Goes Gatsby Auction was a HUGE success.  Everyone had so much fun.  The food, the dancing, the creative dresses and headpieces.  Oh, my how much fun the attendees had! The best part is....the auction was a success at raising money for the students at RCE.  It's wonderful to work at a place that has such a supportive PTA to make wishes come true for both students and staff.  Thank you to the ladies who chaired the auction, the moms and dads who volunteered and all who attended and bid on items.  You made a difference for Rummel Creek.  Thank you!!!!

Third grade students (and teachers) are so excited to learn that Raise the Paddle at Auction raised enough money for their hallway cart of chromebooks.  Watch their Thank You Video!  Incase you missed it, here are the videos they made to encourage parents to Raise the Paddle.  Video Short.  Video Long.

Tuesday was Valentine's day.  Students brought valentines to share, and once again parents created memories at the Valentine's Parties.  Thank you, parents, for always going the extra mile!

Dental Care lessons were presented to the primary classes on Tuesday, and class photos were taken in the library on Monday.

In the middle of the Dental Care lessons, we were put in a weather lock down.  It seemed like hours that we stayed in place, but we were safe and the bad weather passed.  RCE teachers and students were prepared and went into action without a hitch.

Thursday night, Rummel Creek shined as the SBISD Council of Librarians held it's Founder's Day Meeting in the Rummel Creek cafeteria.  The RCE Fiddlers and the RCE Choir entertained the attendees.  Erin Hiner represented RCE as the School Bell nominee.  It was a grand night.  (See the RCE Facebook page for photos!)

Spirit Stick for the week goes to Mrs. Hamilton's Kindergarten class

It's Friday afternoon, Mr. Rice is sharing with fifth grade.  He sharing about how to make a good case.  It's time for the mock trial between the Patriots and Loyalists.  Let the research and acting begin!

Friday afternoon before a long weekend!  Yes....Monday is President's Day so NOOO School!  Enjoy your time at home!  Looking forward to a restful weekend.  Perhaps a good book is in your future!

It's been a Ramey kind of week.....

Mrs. Rebecca Ramey has a wonderful week....a tremendous week....a week that she will most likely never forget!   Mrs. Ramey has been named Teacher of the Year for Rummel Creek Elementary.  What a great honor!  But that's not all.....Mrs. Ramey was also "Teacher of the Week" on KRCE this week.  (Now the students know all of the details of her life!  She LOVES sloths!).  Today was the icing on the cake - Mrs. Ramey's second-grade class earned the Spirit Stick for Collective Greatness and working well together.  Well done Mrs. Ramey!

Now....we need to go back to earlier in the week.  We have started the Healthy Challenge at RCE.  If your parents haven't joined the Healthy Roadrunners group on Facebook...it's a must....so many great photos of students taking the healthy challenge.
This week we had Awesome Bits for students to try.  Healthy muffins that taste great!.  Check out her website for more information!
Tuesday we had the Fuel To Play 60 Mock Triathalon!  Your child should have come home tired!  Healthy Students = Good Students = Good Grades!  Keep being healthy Roadrunners!

Just in case you missed it....Mrs. Hiner, first grade, is the PTA School Bell teacher this year.  Congratulations!

It's been a busy week, the students have had an awesome time learning.  Lots of fun dancing to prepare for Bugz Play and How Does your Garden Grow?  These will be two outstanding performances!

KRCE students even figured out how to do a Green Screen for the news broadcast!  Woohoo!

Another week of Watch Dogs and Volunteers!  Thank you!

Have Fun at the Auction!

Next week is Picture Day and Valentine's Day!  Looking forward to next week!

Have a great weekend!
