HEB Challenge

It's the last week of January.  February is just around the corner.  With February comes the HEB Challenge.  What is the HEB Challenge?  It is a friendly competition with schools around Texas to insure that Texas students are healthy and making good choices.  RCE will take the challenge.  Watch for more information through the month of April - in the newsletter, in the Roadrunner Express, and through e-mails from your teacher.  Check out the HEB Challenge website to see how you can include your family in the challenge.  Let's go ROADRUNNERS!

PreK and Kindergarten Round Up

Do you have a PREK student?  Do you want to know what Rummel Creek has to offer?  Join us on Friday, January 23, 2015 in the Cafeteria at the Transition Campus at 11339 Britoak Street at 9:00.  You will learn all about the program and what you need to do to get your child registered for PREK at RCE!

Do you have a Kindergarten child?  Are you ready to have them join the students at Rummel Creek?  Join the Kindergarten teachers on Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 at 9:15 in the Kindergarten rooms.  You will learn about the program and steps you need to register your child for Kindergarten at RCE.

Rummel Creek is currently meeting at the transition campus at 11339 Britoak Street in the parking lot of Westchester Academy.  Enter the building's front door on Britoak.  The cafeteria is located in the Westchester Academy campus.  (Allow a few minutes to walk from the front office of Rummel Creek to the Cafeteria.)  Next December/January we will move to our NEW BEAUTIFUL building located at 625 Brittmoore.  You will want to be a part of this exciting adventure!

If it's January....It must be the beginning of testing...

This week students in grades 2-5 will begin NRT testing.  NRT testing will continue for these grade levels through the month of January.  Help your children be ready for the testing - make sure they are in bed at a reasonable time, leave for school with a good breakfast in their belly, and have a good lunch each day.  Rummel Creek students are ready for these tests and will do great, however routines and good habits always help.   Another thing parents can do to help students be prepared for tests is to encourage reading  books every day and limit screen time just before bed time.  RCE is ready to tackle the NRT tests!
